As 2024 draws to a close, we’d like to highlight a continuing education program that has been creating significant buzz and capturing the attention of dentists nationwide: imP.R.E.S.
What began as a chance meeting between two passionate dentists at a continuing education course in 2017 has evolved into a highly regarded hands-on education program in esthetic dentistry. Led by Drs. Amanda Seay and Adamo Notarantonio, both distinguished Fellows of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), imP.R.E.S. offers dental professionals an unparalleled learning experience, setting the standard for excellence in cosmetic education.
Despite their impressive resumes, Amanda and Adamo are relatable instructors with plenty in common with their attendees. “We practice like most people do – we see tons of different types of patients and are focused on running an efficient, profitable practice. We know what the everyday hustle is like, and we can’t spend 10 hours with just one patient,” Amanda explains. The courses attract dentists from all career stages, from recent graduates to those nearing retirement. However, Amanda points out a common theme among attendees: “When you invest in both time and travel for a course, you're a dentist striving to elevate your practice and always seeking ways to improve efficiency while delivering higher-quality care.”
A key differentiator of the imP.R.E.S program is that it’s not sponsored by any dental companies. Yet, you would be hard-pressed to find another course that allows participants to try as many types of materials as they do at imP.R.E.S. Attendees use a variety of Amanda and Adamo’s favorite products, used in their practices, not what they’re paid to promote. Combined with their course’s hands-on component that attendees love, this helps to explain why imP.R.E.S courses are consistently selling out. “There is a lot of CE out there, a boatload of it. For us, we want you to come to a course on a Friday and Saturday and then actually be able to implement what you learned on Monday, not have to take another 9 continuums to figure out what everyone was talking about. We try to simplify the material so that people feel comfortable doing what they learned. We always have a good time with our attendees, really creating a sense of camaraderie within the group,” Adamo explained.
imP.R.E.S courses are roughly 80% hands-on. Each course begins with the fundamentals offered through lectures but quickly shifts to hands-on practice. Adamo and Amanda offer constant one-on-one support—they don’t just stand by; they actively engage, moving around the room to personally guide attendees. Their unparalleled proficiency ensures that participants gain both cutting-edge skills and constructive insights.
“A lot of what I used to do felt so transactional, with no real follow through afterwards. Now, with our imP.R.E.S curriculum – we develop a real relationship with attendees and it is transformational, not transactional. You feel the effect of how attendees are grasping the material and ultimately implementing it when they return home,” expressed Amanda.
imP.R.E.S stands out not only for its growth but for the impact it has made in continuing education. With five unique programs now offered, the imP.R.E.S curriculum continues to attract dentists seeking hands-on experiences and real-world applications for their practice. Attendees leave these courses with more than just technical skills—they gain confidence, new friendships, and practical tools they can use right away.
