Still looking for that perfect holiday gift for your team members? Not to worry. We asked readers to submit their go-to gift ideas and we put together a list that’s sure to inspire you

What Are You Gifting Your Team This Year?

    1. Surprise Team with an Extra Day Off in December

To make this even more special, you can give them tickets to a holiday event to use on that day off, such as to Radio City Music Hall in New York City (Submitted by Tricia Sealover).

    2. Create a Gift Card Tree

Buy gift cards from local restaurants and stores and put them on a tree in your office. Choose an afternoon and have everyone pick a gift card. (Submitted by L. Ray, RDH)

    3. Plan a Fun Event!

Give team members MAC lip gloss, then plan a time for MAC representatives to come to your practice for a makeup party or technique session. This is just one example of a fun event you could plan for your team, giving them a chance to relax and to bond. You could also gift nail polish and plan for a mani/pedi event at the office! (Submitted by Dr. Rand Mattson)

    4. Celebrate All Month with Advent Calendars

For those interested in beauty products QVC, Ulta or Anthropolgie all have great options. There are also options from LL Bean, Total Wine and More, and Williams Sonoma.

    5. Turn a Busy Day Into an Afternoon Off

Fill the schedule with fake patients, then surprise your team with the day off to prepare for the holidays. Maybe even give them a gift card they can use to pick up lunch while they’re out running errands. (Submitted by Dr. Nancy Spada)

    6. Customized Cookies

Find out each team member’s favorite holiday cookie and then bake (or buy) them as their holiday gift. This will not only save them time, but it will also let them know you’re paying attention! Arrange the cookies on a fun holiday platter they can take home. With this gift, team members get a new holiday decoration they can display once the cookies are gone, and they get to satisfy their sweet tooth without spending time baking or shopping for cookies. You can do this with any dessert including brownies, fudge and pie. (Submitted by Dr. Susan Frankson)

    7. Hardcover Books

Don’t get the same book for everyone. Make it personal and write a short inspirational or thank you note on the inside cover. (Submitted by Dr. Robert Deep)

Here are a few book ideas:

Atlas Obscura: An Explorer's Guide to the World's Hidden Wonders
Women: The National Geographic Image Collection
I Really Needed This Today: Words to Live
The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World
Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance
How to Win at Everything: Even Things You Can't or Shouldn't Try to Win

    8. Mulled Wine

Do you have wine drinkers? A Mulled Wine Gift Set is a festive gift option. Pair it with a $10 to $15 bottle of red wine and you’re all set (It’s mulled wine, so there’s no need to get too fancy with the type of wine!) This gift set (and many more!) can be found on uncommongoods.com.

    9. Personalized Ornaments

Decorate ornaments for each member of your team with their names, a custom inspirational quote or a thank you note. (Submitted by Tamara Adams) You can find these personalized ornaments on Etsy.

    10. Cater a Meal

Order lunch from a favorite restaurant for your team. Make it special by decorating the office for the holidays and clearing the schedule so everyone can sit down and enjoy the meal together. Then, give everyone the rest of the afternoon off to finish their holiday shopping or to just relax. You also can cater in dinner and turn this into a festive holiday gathering that includes a gift exchange. (Submitted by Dr. Robert Beavers)

    11. Put Together a Customized Gift Basket

Include something you know your team members like, whether it’s a nice bottle of wine, whiskey, chocolates or their favorite snack. You also can throw in some hot chocolate, a cozy blanket, a fun mug, comfy socks, holiday décor, cookies, and gift cards to their favorite stores or restaurants. (Submitted by Sara Chin) Click here for 33 themed basket ideas.

    12. Give Them a Gift that Lasts All Year

There are tons of “of the month” clubs you can sign your team members up for, giving them something to look forward to all year long. Wine, fudge, beer, cookies and books are a few of the options you have to choose from. (Submitted by Dr. Eric Lee) Click here for 21 different food-of-the-month clubs to gift your food-loving team members.

    13. Hire a Wrapper

Buying and wrapping gifts takes up a lot of time and can be stressful. Alleviate that stress by inviting team members to have their gifts wrapped at the office. Hire a teenager or a college student to handle the wrapping for an afternoon, just make sure everything is labeled so you don’t have any mix ups. (Submitted by Elizabeth Heath)

    14. Pamper Them

Arrange for a day of pampering at a local spa, where team members can choose from services like a massage, facial or pedicure. They’ll come back the next day feeling refreshed and thankful for some time to focus on themselves. (Submitted by Dr. Nicholas Williams)
